VIDEO: Igwe Orizu honours Nnewi Teaching Hospital CMD, Ugboaja, with chieftaincy title

The traditional ruler of Nnewi, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Kenneth Orizu III, has honoured the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH), Dr. Joseph Ugboaja, who hails from Umuchu in the Anambra State, with a chieftaincy title, Ochinanwata Nnewi.

The chieftaincy title was conferred on Dr. Ugboaja on December 28, 2023, during the Ofala festival of the ancient Nnewi Kingdom.

The title was in recognition of the giant strides he has taken to further develop and expand the Teaching Hospital domiciled in the industrial hub of the state.

More details of the development and expansion the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital will be published in subsequent reports.

Earlier, Nnewi Town was set agog on December 27 as Igwe Orizu commissioned an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Center at NAUTH permanent site named after him ahead of his 60th “Ofala” celebration as the sole monarch of the ancient Nnewi Kingdom.

The event was hosted by the Chief Medical Director of NAUTH, Dr. Ugboaja.
