Dr. Pita Piper: A Shameful Misadventure

Why He Cannot Stand Beside Peter Obi or Compare Him to Julius Abure

A Sad Fall From Civil Society Pride

Dr. Pita Piper, once seen as a hopeful civil society voice, has fallen into disgrace. Once a supposed supporter of Peter Obi in the 2023 elections, now trades respect for ridicule. His words today are laced with desperation, hidden motives, and clear signs of compromise.

Where once he spoke for the people, today he speaks for himself and possibly for those who have bought his pen.

The Legacy of Peter Obi: A Journey of Integrity

Unlike the shallow claims Piper makes, Peter Obi’s record stands strong.
Starting from APGA, Obi governed Anambra State for eight impactful years. He faced numerous court battles, fought and won them, not for himself but for democracy.
He helped to lift APGA from an unknown regional party to national recognition. He even supported Chief Victor Umeh’s rise to the Senate, though they later found themselves in different camps.

When Obi left APGA, the party was healthy and growing, not destroyed.

Later, called by Atiku Abubakar to serve as his running mate in 2019, Obi moved to PDP without scandal or betrayal. Again, he contributed positively before moving on honorably.

No bridges burned. No betrayals committed.

Reviving a Dead Labour Party: Obi’s Relentless Spirit

By 2022, Labour Party was dead , a hollow shell without national relevance. Julius Abure, its chairman, had failed to build any serious political force.

It was Pat Utomi who introduced Peter Obi to the struggling party. Through Obi’s leadership, Labour Party rose from the ashes to challenge Nigeria’s biggest political forces at the 2023 elections.

Obi did not just participate; he led a national movement that INEC and the judicial system shamefully denied through fraud and injustice , a fact known even to international observers.

Yet, Piper does not see this?

Instead, he chooses to hurl insults and attempt false equivalences between Obi and Abure.

The Truth About Abure’s Failures:

While Peter Obi continues to earn global respect, Julius Abure presides over a crumbling house.
In Abure’s home state of Edo, almost 98% of LP’s elected politicians have shamefully decamped to the APC.
Abure has failed to fix his own backyard yet spends his energy plotting against Obi, the man who rebuilt the party he now mismanaged.

Why should Peter Obi even sip tea with a man like Abure?
One who claims ownership of LP but cannot maintain simple internal discipline?

Exposing Piper’s Agenda: Why His Words Lack Weight

Pita Piper now behaves like a wandering minstrel, desperate for attention and patronage.
His claim that Peter Obi is a “scam” holds no weight against Obi’s consistent life of public service and personal sacrifice.

Obi has never looted public funds. He does not live off trips abroad.
Instead, he remains a model of how politics should serve the people, not personal pockets.

Piper, by contrast, speaks today like a man hired to sing songs that will soon be forgotten.

Conclusion: The Movement is Alive, Lies Will Fail

Peter Obi remains the symbol of a New Nigeria — one built on transparency, sacrifice, and hope.

Dr. Pita Piper can rant and rage, but he cannot rewrite history.
He is not a people’s leader. He is not an orator of change.
He is simply a man who lost his way.

The movement lives.

The lies will not prevail.
