Barcelona produced a stunning fightback to defeat Real Madrid 4-3 in an electrifying El Clásico at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys on Sunday evening.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) reports that the thrilling result moved the Catalan giants to within one win of clinching the LaLiga title, while also sealing their third victory over Real Madrid in 2025.

The visitors began with purpose, determined to keep their title challenge alive. That urgency was rewarded early when Kylian Mbappé capitalised on a defensive error by Pau Cubarsí.

The French forward was brought down in the box by goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny, and he made no mistake from the penalty spot to give Madrid the lead.

Just nine minutes later, Mbappé struck again, this time latching onto a pass from Vinícius Júnior and slotting home a composed finish to double Madrid’s advantage.

Barcelona refused to crumble under pressure.

Eric García rose highest to meet a flicked Dani Olmo corner and powered a header past Thibaut Courtois to make it 2-1. Moments later, 16-year-old sensation Lamine Yamal curled a beautiful first-time shot into the far corner, levelling the score and reigniting the home crowd.

The hosts continued to press. Raphinha put Barça ahead after a slick pass from Pedri, then added a fourth before halftime by dispossessing Lucas Vázquez and calmly finishing past Courtois.

Mbappé thought he had a hat-trick before the break, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

In the second half, Real Madrid pushed to get back into the game, but Barcelona’s defence held firm.

Although Mbappé eventually completed his hat-trick following a swift counterattack involving Luka Modrić and Vinícius, it was not enough.

Barça had chances to extend their lead through Raphinha, Yamal, and Ferran Torres.

Late drama ensued when Víctor Muñoz came close to an equaliser on his Madrid debut, and Fermín López had a stoppage-time goal ruled out for handball.

Despite the pressure, Barcelona held on for the win.

The result ends Real Madrid’s four-match winning streak in the league and puts Barcelona seven points clear with only three matches remaining.

Man of the Match Lamine Yamal impressed with his energy, maturity, and a spectacular goal.

Barcelona are now just one win away from lifting the LaLiga title, while also completing a treble of victories over their fiercest rivals this year.
