Nigerian music star Peter Okoye, aka Mr P, has shared the harsh realities of living as a famous person.

He revealed that although he once prayed for fame, he now tries to avoid recognition at all costs, Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathers.

In an interview, Mr P explained how he often hides his identity in public.

He said he wears facemasks, face caps, and sunglasses whenever he goes out or travels.

These items help him stay anonymous and avoid being constantly spotted by fans and onlookers.

“Before, we used to pray for fame,” he admitted, “but now I cover my face to avoid attention.”

Mr P has been in the music industry for nearly three decades.

After so many years, he says it’s time to live his life without the constant spotlight.

He explained that fame, while once desired, now feels like a heavy burden.

“Most celebrities don’t enjoy all parts of their lives,” he said openly.

He shared a personal story about wanting to enjoy local street food in peace.

When driving, he sometimes wants to stop for hot akara, a popular Nigerian snack.

But instead of stopping himself, he sends someone else to avoid being seen.

Unfortunately, by the time the food arrives, it is no longer warm or fresh.

This small inconvenience shows the daily sacrifices celebrities make to protect their privacy.

“I miss eating akara bread and ABC; that’s the best burger ever,” he confessed.

He longs for the days when he could enjoy simple pleasures without fear of recognition.

Peter Okoye’s words highlight the hidden struggles behind the glamour of fame.

For Mr P, the challenges of celebrity life have made him reconsider what fame truly means.
