Iran – Footage has emerged showing the aftermath of an Israeli airstrike on the headquarters of Iran’s state broadcaster, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), in Tehran, on Monday, June 16, 2025.

According to updates monitored by Diaspora Digital Media (DDM), the strike led to momentary chaos and confusion in the Iranian capital as smoke billowed from the heavily damaged building.

The attack reportedly came without warning, disrupting live programming and forcing media personnel to evacuate urgently.

A dramatic video circulated on social media shows the IRIB building engulfed in flames, with thick black smoke rising into the sky. In the footage, a visibly injured individual, bleeding from the hand, speaks frantically into the camera while emergency sirens wail in the background.

The airstrike, believed to be part of a growing military escalation between Israel and Iran, caused live transmission to abruptly go off-air.

Moments before the feed was cut, viewers witnessed an anchor abandoning the studio amid blaring alarms and tremors.

Hours after the attack, IRIB resumed live broadcasting and issued a bold statement condemning Israel’s actions.

Hassan Abedini, a senior IRIB official, addressed the situation on air, stating that the Zionist regime had launched a direct military operation against Iran’s national voice.

“The regime Israel was unaware of the fact that the voice of the Islamic revolution and the great Iran will not be silenced by a military operation,” Abedini said.

Though the broadcast resumed, damage to the building was evident.

The total number of casualties remains unconfirmed as emergency teams continue rescue and damage assessment efforts.

Israeli authorities have yet to release an official statement regarding the strike.

However, analysts believe the action may mark a new phase in regional tensions, which have been rising due to Iran’s military alliances and nuclear ambitions.

Global leaders have called for restraint, warning that further escalation could destabilize the entire Middle East.

The situation remains tense, with Tehran vowing retaliation and its state media returning to the airwaves as a symbol of national defiance.
