Bandits block major road, shoot retired Army General

Terror bandits have kidnapped the traditional ruler of Bauda, a village within the Maro community in Kufana Chiefdom, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

According to media reports, the abduction took place around 1am on Saturday, June 28, 2025 when the criminal elements stormed the community and seized the village head, Mr. Obadiah Iguda.

A report presented to the Agom Kufana by the district overseer, Mr. Stephen Maikori, confirmed that the gunmen made off with only the community leader.

No other individuals were harmed or abducted, and no properties were stolen during the incident.

“This senseless act of violence has further deepened the atmosphere of insecurity and fear among the residents of Bauda and its surrounding communities,” Maikori wrote in a letter to the traditional ruler.

Moreover, the abduction has rattled the leadership structure in Bauda and heightened concerns about the deteriorating security situation in the region.

Authorities in Kufana District have called on security agencies to step up interventions and provide lasting protection for lives and property in the area.
