2027: ‘Stomach Infrastructure’ Joe Igbokwe Blasts Anti-Tinubu Coalition

Controversial APC stalwart Joe Igbokwe has thrown a fresh jab at the growing opposition coalition seeking to unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 general elections, describing most of the alliance members as “unknown” and “irrelevant.”

In a sharply worded Facebook post on Wednesday, Igbokwe declared that the coalition lacks the muscle, character, and charisma to pose a real threat to Tinubu’s presidency.

According to him, only “one or two real men” in the group are worth taking seriously—without naming names.

“When I look at the composition of the so-called coalition, I see one or two that are real men,” Igbokwe wrote.

“The others are unknown. They have nothing to bring to the table—no skill, no energy, no resources, no charisma, no history, no character.”

The opposition alliance that Igbokwe appears to be referencing includes a formidable list of political heavyweights.

Diaspora Digital Media  reported that some of the top names involved in the growing coalition include:

  1. Atiku Abubakar – Former Vice President and 2023 PDP presidential candidate
  2. Peter Obi – 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate and former Anambra Governor
  3. Nasir El-Rufai – Former Governor of Kaduna State
  4. Rotimi Amaechi – Former Governor of Rivers State and ex-Minister of Transportation

Although the coalition is still in its early stages, its emergence has stirred tension within ruling party circles.

With these political figures coming from different ideological and regional backgrounds, many Nigerians are watching closely to see whether a united front can be achieved before the 2027 ballot.

Igbokwe Throws Shade at Opposition Bigwigs

While he didn’t specifically name which of the coalition members he considers the “real men,” Igbokwe has in the past praised Nasir El-Rufai, calling him smarter than any current Tinubu appointee.

“El-Rufai is smarter and more intelligent than anyone in Tinubu’s current cabinet,” Igbokwe once said in a separate Facebook post.

His latest remarks suggest that, despite the presence of political juggernauts like Atiku and Obi, Igbokwe sees the coalition as a paper tiger—strong in media attention but weak in political substance.

Igbokwe’s post sparked mixed reactions online.

While some APC loyalists applauded his boldness, critics accused him of underestimating public discontent and mocking the democratic process.

Opposition supporters pointed out that dismissing a coalition containing former governors, ministers, and presidential candidates could backfire as Nigerians demand more accountability and results from the current administration.

With the 2027 elections still over a year away, it’s too early to tell whether the opposition alliance will survive internal differences or pose a real challenge.

However, the political temperature is rising fast, and with figures like Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar in the mix, the race may turn out to be far more competitive than APC loyalists like Igbokwe are willing to admit.
