Gunmen suspected to be armed bandits have attacked Doka Maijama’a village in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathered that the tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, July 2, 2025, claiming the life of a young man and resulting in the abduction of his father.

The assailants reportedly stormed the residence of 60-year-old Malam Isiya Abdullahi at about 2:00am, wielding machetes and other deadly weapons.

During the violent encounter, the victim’s 25-year-old son, Suleiman Isiya, attempted to fend off the attackers in a desperate bid to protect his father.

Witnesses say Suleiman was brutally stabbed multiple times during the scuffle.

He was rushed to a nearby medical facility but was confirmed dead shortly after arrival due to the severity of his wounds.

The attackers succeeded in whisking away Malam Isiya Abdullahi, whose whereabouts remain unknown as of press time.

Local security sources confirm that a joint operation comprising Nigerian Army troops and other security agencies is ongoing to track the assailants.

As of now, the Kaduna State Police Command has not released an official statement on the incident.

However, efforts are reportedly underway to stabilize the affected area and secure the safe release of the kidnapped farmer.

The motive behind the gruesome attack remains unclear, with no group claiming responsibility.

Residents of Doka Maijama’a have been left in shock and grief, with many describing the community as “under siege” by rising insecurity.
