The All Progressives Congress (APC) Rivers State chapter has strongly criticized Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, over allegations he made against Judith Amaechi, wife of former Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi.

Wike claimed Judith Amaechi received ₦48 billion from the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to train Niger Delta women, further alleging that former Attorney-General Abubakar Malami covered her.

The APC has challenged Wike to provide evidence to support his claims, specifically calling for the release of the NDDC audit report to prove the allegations.

Darlington Nwauju, APC Publicity Secretary, stated, “We empathise with Nigerians who have been entertained twice in 48hrs with a cocktail of lies, half-truths and the usual double speaks.

The APC described Wike’s allegations as a “smear tactic” and questioned the credibility of the claims, emphasizing that Wike’s dramatic claim to resign if the NDDC audit report doesn’t indict Judith Amaechi is unsubstantiated.

The Rivers State APC women’s group also responded to Wike’s claims, describing the allegations as made out of ignorance.

They demanded that Wike publish the NDDC report for public scrutiny, allowing Nigerians to see the details of transactions attached to his claims.

Wike had stated he would resign his position if the NDDC audit report is released without indicting Judith Amaechi.

The APC sees this as a desperate attempt to tarnish reputations without concrete evidence .

The exchange between the APC and Wike highlights the ongoing political tension between the two figures, with significant implications for their political careers and relationships within the party.

The APC’s demand for the release of the NDDC audit report underscores the need for transparency and accountability in governance, particularly concerning large-scale projects and funding.
