JUST IN: Kogi Varsity Lecturer Dies During Sex Romp With Student

A senior lecturer at Kogi State University, Anyigba, identified as Dr. Olabode Abimbola Ibikunle, has died in a hotel room after an alleged sexual encounter with a 22-year-old female student.
Diaspora Digital Media learned that the incident occurred on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 and was later reported to the Anyigba Police Division, which arrested the student for questioning.
According to multiple sources, Dr. Ibikunle, a married man with children, was well known on campus for his strictness but was also allegedly notorious for sexually exploiting female students in exchange for grades.
According to sources, the deceased had checked into a hotel with the 200-level student, who is studying Social Studies Education. The lecturer is said to have consumed multiple energy drinks prior to the encounter.
Tragically, he collapsed during the act and was later pronounced dead. The Kogi State Police Command confirmed the incident on Friday and described it as unfortunate.
Speaking to journalists, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye Aya, stated that the female student has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Giving further details, Aya said:
“The report was received on July 16, but the unfortunate incident happened on July 15, 2025. It was the manager of the hotel, Moses Friday, who came to the Anyigba Police Station and reported the case. According to him, the lecturer had checked into their facility with a 22-year-old 200-level student named Gloria Samuel.
“The girl reportedly rushed to the reception that day and said the lecturer slumped after they had sex. The manager then notified the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), who immediately moved to the scene. The man was taken to a hospital, where a doctor confirmed his death.”
SP Aya also confirmed that an autopsy has been conducted. However, he said the result is not yet available, as he has not received updates from the SCID.
