VIDEO: Plateau Youths Celebrate Nentawe’s Emergence As APC National Chair

Youths across Plateau State erupted in celebration following the emergence of Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe as the new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Diaspora Digital Media reported that Dr. Nentawe, a former gubernatorial candidate of the party in Plateau, was appointed during the APC National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held in Abuja.
His appointment on Thursday, July 24, has stirred excitement, especially among youth groups who see it as a victory for the Middle Belt region.
Several youth coalitions across Jos, Barkin Ladi, and Pankshin organized rallies, chanting victory songs and waving placards that read, “Our Time Has Come,” and “Nentawe Represents Hope.”
Speaking to reporters during a celebration event in Jos, the leader of Plateau Youth Progressive Forum, Solomon Davou, described Nentawe’s emergence as a fresh beginning for inclusive politics.
“We finally have someone who understands the needs of our generation. Nentawe is digital, he is visionary, and he connects with the grassroots,” Davou stated.
Dr. Nentawe’s political journey gained momentum during the 2023 governorship elections, where he built a strong youth support base despite not winning the poll.
Many of his supporters believe his elevation to APC’s top job will not only unify the party but also energize its base ahead of the 2027 elections.
In a statement released by the Northern Youth Alliance, the group praised President Bola Tinubu and the APC leadership for recognizing competence over politics.
“With Nentawe, APC has a leader who combines intellect, innovation, and humility. This is a turning point,” the group said.
Meanwhile, residents in his hometown of Kanke Local Government also held a thanksgiving session, praising God for what they called a “divine breakthrough” for the Middle Belt.
Observers believe that Nentawe’s leadership could attract more young voters and drive reforms in the party’s digital and grassroots structures.
