Ideato North killings

Owerri, Imo State — The Bring Back Ohakim (BBO) 2027 Organization has expressed deep outrage over the gruesome and cold-blooded murder of innocent citizens in Ndi-Ejezie Umualaoma and Umu Akunwata Uno Arondizuogu communities in Ideato North Local Government Area, Imo State.

In a strongly worded statement issued on Saturday July 26th 2025, the Director General of BBO 2027, Captain Bishop C. Johnson (SW/AW), US Army rtd, condemned the killings as “barbaric, unwarranted, and unacceptable in any civilized and democratic society.”

“We unequivocally condemn these senseless killings and call on the Nigeria Police Force and all relevant security agencies to redouble their efforts in fishing out the perpetrators of this dastardly act. We urge the local communities to work closely with security operatives by providing timely and credible information that will lead to justice for the slain,” the statement read.

BBO 2027 extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and community members of Ideato North, noting that the Organization mourns with every grieving home affected by this tragic event.

“The agony of losing loved ones to such heinous violence is unimaginable. We stand in complete solidarity with our members and families from Ideato North and pray for healing and strength during this dark period,” the statement added.

The Organization further warned that resorting to violence—no matter the underlying grievances—is a dangerous affront to peace, democracy, and the rule of law.

“Violence must never be accepted as a means of settling disputes in a democratic society. We must all unite to reject lawlessness and reassert our collective resolve to defend the sanctity of life and peaceful coexistence,” Capt. Johnson concluded.
