A lecturer from Taraba State University, Engineer Joshua Saleh, has been kidnapped by armed men along the Chinkai-Kente-Wukari highway.

The abduction, according to security analyst, Zagazola Makama, occurred on July 31 around 8:30pm between Janda-Ikula and Ikyior communities in Wukari Local Government Area.

A businessman, Mr. Emmanuel Bibinu, who was travelling with Saleh, recounted the attack.

He said four armed men ambushed their vehicle, shooting at the front tyres and forcing them to stop.

The kidnappers took valuables, including a Samsung Galaxy G10 valued at ₦1.7 million and ₦83,000 in cash.

Bibinu managed to escape and was rescued by a local hunter, who took him to the police station. Saleh, however, was taken by the kidnappers.

Saleh is a 38-year-old academic staff member at Taraba State University.
