(DDM) – A shocking revelation has surfaced from the Nollywood film industry, as actor Olaide Olajire, popularly known as Agba Yahoo, accused veteran actor Ibrahim Chatta of firing a gun at him during a movie shoot.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathered that the disturbing allegation was made during a video interview posted on Feel Right News TV’s YouTube channel, where Olajire gave a vivid account of the near-fatal experience.

According to the actor, the incident took place on the set of a traditional Nollywood film shot in a remote village, where he played the role of a brave warrior.

Ibrahim Chatta, a respected actor known for his roles in Yoruba-language films, was acting as the head of the warriors in the same scene.

Olajire explained that a prop gun was to be used in a battle sequence to add realism to the storyline.

During rehearsals, Chatta allegedly proposed that the gun be tested directly on Olajire, an idea the younger actor hesitated to accept.

When the gun was initially fired, it failed to discharge.

This failure led Chatta to jokingly accuse Olajire of using supernatural powers to prevent the weapon from firing.

Olajire said he firmly denied using charms and reminded Chatta that he had no control over the gun’s performance.

Despite this, Chatta insisted that the gun should work and decided to handle the situation himself.

To Olajire’s horror, Ibrahim Chatta took the gun, pointed it, and pulled the trigger.

The gun discharged successfully and struck Olajire close to his private region.

The actor, although visibly injured, continued acting in the scene until it was completed.

After the shoot, Chatta reportedly approached Olajire to confirm whether he had actually been hit.

Olajire confirmed that the bullet grazed near his groin but by divine mercy, it did not cause permanent damage.

He described the moment as terrifying and emphasized how close he came to a tragic outcome.

The actor did not state whether medical care was provided on set or if further disciplinary action was being pursued.

This incident raises serious questions about the safety protocols observed on Nollywood film sets, especially in remote or low-budget productions.

In recent years, the Nigerian film industry has faced criticism for neglecting professional safety standards during stunts and action sequences.

Olajire’s account has sparked outrage among fans and fellow entertainers, many of whom are demanding improved safety checks for weapons and props used during filming.

Ibrahim Chatta has not yet issued a public statement regarding the accusation.

As the story continues to circulate online, fans and industry observers are urging the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) to investigate and ensure such incidents are never repeated.

The shocking event has now added to a growing list of alarming on-set accidents in Nollywood, calling for urgent reform and accountability.
