A Place Where Fun Never Ends? Anambra’s Newest Attraction Might Just Be It

In a bold stride toward transforming the cultural and tourism landscape of Anambra State, the Ministry of Culture, Entertainment, and Tourism hosted a press briefing on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at the vibrant new hub known as Solution City, popularly dubbed Fun City.
The briefing was convened to officially announce the grand opening of this state-of-the-art amusement and leisure park, scheduled for Saturday, June 28, 2025.
Leading the event were Dr. Law Mefor, Anambra State Commissioner for Information, and Comrade Don Onyenji, Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment, and Tourism.
Journalists from across Nigeria and beyond were also in attendance.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Mefor introduced Comrade Onyenji, who gave a detailed overview of the upcoming launch.
According to Onyenji, Solution Fun City is a visionary project initiated by the Solution-led government, designed to offer world-class recreational experiences to residents and visitors alike.
The park features a cinema, a scenic water fountain, a leisure club, thrilling rides, and various amusements, crafted to provide endless entertainment for families, youth, and tourists.
Already commissioned by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the park’s official opening is being positioned as a landmark event, with a warm invitation extended to guests from across Nigeria and the world.
Attendees can expect an electric atmosphere on launch day, with musical performances by top Nigerian stars including Flavour and Umu Obiligbo, along with a lineup of comedians and upcoming local talents.
The celebration begins at 1 PM, with the stage lighted up with performances from up and coming acts to pave way for the popular ones.
He promised a mix of entertainment and cultural showcases.
Ahead of the opening, Governor Charles Soludo will host a special gathering on Friday, June 27, with creative professionals—actors, designers, and artists—from Anambra.
This meeting aims to reignite the state’s creative economy, recognizing it as a key employment driver and a vital part of Anambra’s development strategy.
“Anambra is ready to reclaim its place as a creative and entertainment powerhouse,” Onyenji declared, emphasizing the state’s potential as both a cultural hub and investment destination.
When asked about the long-term sustainability of the park, Onyenji clarified that Solution City is structured as a corporate, privately run enterprise, shielded from political influence.

Heading operations is the Director, Mr. Mohammed Farar, an expatriate from Egypt and the sole non-Nigerian among 85 employees, most of whom are Anambra natives.
Farar, who has already coined the slogan “Fun Like No Other,” approved by the governor, assured the public of a consistent, affordable, and high-quality experience.
“We conducted a survey where we compared our prices with prices in other amusement parks around the country and Solution City offers the best value,” he said.
He cited prices like ₦1000 for virtual reality experiences and ₦400 for video games.
Onyenji also affirmed that the park’s operations will run daily from 10 am to 7 pm, except Sundays, when activities kick off at 1 PM.
Sports lovers, especially five-a-side football fans, will have access to premium recreational spaces at the park’s country club.
Addressing infrastructure concerns, including power supply, Farar was optimistic: “We’ve got it covered.
“There are generators.
“There are no challenges.”
On the issue of government subvention and funding, Comrade Onyenji stated that the facility is designed to function independently, attracting private investments while delivering international standards of service.
“Every serious investor wants returns, and with what we’ve put in place, this city will be self-sustaining,” he affirmed.
Ultimately, Solution Fun City is more than just an amusement park.
It is a symbol of Anambra’s evolving identity, a beacon for its youth, and a catalyst for tourism, investment, and creative excellence.
As Farar concluded with a smile, “Let’s hope for the best.
“We are ready.”
