Access Bank has terminated the employment of a staff member accused of secretly recording videos of colleagues inside the bank’s restroom facilities.

The financial institution, in a statement signed by its management team, confirmed it is fully cooperating with law enforcement authorities to ensure a comprehensive investigation.

According to Diaspora digital media (DDM), the bank emphasized its commitment to maintaining a work environment free from harassment and any violation of personal privacy.

“Access Bank operates a strict zero-tolerance policy towards harassment, misconduct, and privacy breaches,” the management stated.

It also highlighted that affected employees are receiving necessary support during the ongoing investigations.

Reports circulating widely on social media identified the dismissed staff member as Stephen Ifeanyichukwu Ejezie.

Ejezie was employed as a Quality Assurance Specialist at Access Bank’s contact centre located in Oniru, Lagos.

According to preliminary reports, Ejezie was allegedly caught inside the female restroom while attempting to record videos of his female colleagues.

The incident reportedly occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, during a late shift at the contact centre.

Further allegations suggest that Ejezie had secretly recorded hundreds of video clips over an undisclosed period of time.

The discovery has caused significant outrage both within and outside the bank’s workforce.

Employees expressed shock and anger over the severe breach of trust and privacy by one of their own.

Access Bank assured stakeholders that the matter is being treated with the utmost seriousness.

The bank reiterated its commitment to ensuring that justice is served in collaboration with appropriate security agencies.

Access Bank also advised the public to rely exclusively on updates shared through its official communication platforms.

Despite the termination of Ejezie’s employment, several affected employees have raised concerns regarding the pursuit of justice.

Some staff members worry about the effectiveness of the legal process and whether it will deter similar violations in the future.

Social media platforms have continued to amplify calls for a transparent investigation and swift prosecution of the offender.

Access Bank expressed gratitude to its stakeholders for their concern, support, and understanding during this difficult period.

The bank acknowledged that the incident is deeply troubling and contrary to its organizational values.

It further pledged to review internal policies and strengthen security measures to prevent future occurrences.

The management emphasized that safeguarding employee trust is central to maintaining Access Bank’s reputation for professionalism and corporate ethics.

Observers note that how Access Bank manages the fallout from this incident will impact its public image.

The financial institution has built a strong reputation for professionalism, making the situation particularly sensitive.

Public confidence in Access Bank’s commitment to workplace ethics is crucial for its continued leadership in Nigeria’s banking sector.

The case has sparked wider conversations about workplace safety, surveillance, and employee privacy rights across corporate Nigeria.

There is growing pressure on companies to deploy stronger preventive measures against internal misconduct.

The incident also highlights the need for greater vigilance in safeguarding the personal spaces of employees.

Access Bank, founded in 1989, has steadily grown to become one of Nigeria’s largest and most respected financial institutions.
