The Kaduna State Executive Committee (SEC) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expelled its Deputy Chairman, Ahmed Tijani Mustapha, and eight other members for alleged gross misconduct.
According to a statement issued after the committee’s meeting in Kaduna, the decision was reached unanimously by party leaders who emphasized their commitment to discipline, integrity, and internal cohesion within the ADC.
The expelled members include State Publicity Secretary Idris Musa, State Vice Chairman Sulaiman Abdullahi, State Treasurer Gambo Sani, State Financial Secretary Magaji Maiwada, and State Legal Adviser Danlami Dabai Musa, among others.
According to ADC Chairman Elder Patrick Ambut, the expelled members were found guilty of insubordination, holding secret meetings to usurp party leadership, falsifying documents, and extorting party members – actions deemed capable of tarnishing the party’s image.
Ambut emphasized the party’s commitment to discipline, integrity, and internal cohesion, stating that the deputy chairman’s actions were an abuse of office and violated the party’s constitution.
The ADC has appointed Deputy State Publicity Secretary Alex Tagwai as Acting Publicity Secretary, pending further adjustments.
