Nollywood actress Doris Ogala is speaking out about her struggles with suicidal thoughts following a bitter conflict with Chris Okafor, founder of Grace Nation Ministry.
Ogala alleged that Pastor Okafor abandoned a promise to marry her after a years-long romantic relationship, instead proposing to another woman.
She claimed their relationship began in 2017 and that she ended her previous marriage at his insistence, only to be betrayed.
Ogala also alleged Okafor shared explicit videos of her without consent and financially exploited her.
Also, she clarified that a recently viral clip of Okafor preaching about not marrying a “promiscuous woman” was not a current response to her, but a 2023 sermon she witnessed in person while they were still dating.
The actress claimed she used her finances to help Okafor and his associates secure a contract but was never fully repaid.
“You might wake up tomorrow, and I will not be in this world again. I know the state of mind I am in right now. That video was made in 2023 when I was still dating Chris Okafor. That video is not referring to me. As a matter of fact, I was in the church when Chris made that video,” she said.
“… Chris contacted me to help him and his friends. And what did he pay me back with?”
She alleged that Okafor had her detained in Abuja and, in a separate incident, had her arrested and held for two days at the Owerri State CID just four days before her brother’s burial.
“He arrested me. He detained me in Abuja. He also arrested me four days before my brother’s burial. And kept me in CID in Owerri for two days. For nothing. I did nothing,” she said.
“Because his friend gave me money, and he took the money. And I started asking for the money. He paid me so much and got me arrested for defamation. Chris has done a lot of things to me. I am not stable. I am suicidal. I am saying this from the bottom of my heart. It took me a lot to say all this.
“This person you are seeing here is suicidal. I am being very honest. I am devastated.”
Meanwhile, Okafor is yet to publicly react to Ogala’s allegations.
