The Department of Security Service (DSS) has made another futile attempt to stop an American based professor, Okey Ndibe from leaving Nigeria after spending some weeks in the country according to a statement made by the renowned scholar.

Although, the American based professor was placed on the watch list of DSS during the administration of late president Umaru Musa Yaradua for being too critical over some selfish policies of the government.

Moreover, this is not the first time professor Ndibe is been harassed at the airport by the draconian government of Nigeria.

The American based professor in a post through his verified Facebook page said, “To friends and relatives dismayed by news that DSS agents at Lagos airport attempted to stop me from traveling out to my US base: I’m fine.

“The unwarranted harassment was aborted, and I’m now at Heathrow Airport awaiting my connecting flight. My heartfelt appreciation to all who voiced strong objection to this futile exercise in government intimidation. I won’t be cowed. Fear is a choice; I’ve chosen NOT to fear.”
