A’Ibom Govt Kicks Off Ibom Air, Receives 1st Of 3 Aircrafts

The Akwa Ibom State government has acquired three new aircrafts to kick-start the “Ibom Air” airline.

Ibom Air will commence flight operations after the staff training, test run and when the regulatory authorities have certified it fit to fly in the Nigerian airspace.

Ibom Air is run as a limited liability company, ElombahNews gathered.

Meanwhile, one of the Aircrafts to be used by Ibom Air owned by the state government of Akwa Ibom landed in Lagos last night.

Reacting to the development, the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] has taunted the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government over Nigeria Air.

PDP asked: “Ibom Air is here, where is Nigeria Air?

“Ibom Air will never suffer the fate of Nigeria Airways.

“FG scammed Nigerians with Nigeria Air, launched logo designed with billions of Naira! But the PDP government of Akwa Ibom is here with the Ibom Air.

“Three aircrafts ready and one landed in Lagos last night.

“Thank You Mr. Udom Emmanuel.”

The party added that with the launch of #IbomAir, @MrUdomEmmanuel of @PdpAkwaIbom has opened more doors for a prosperous Akwa Ibom state. This is in addition to the various factories and other infrastructural development by the Governor.”

Although Ibom Air is exclusively owned by the Akwa Ibom State Government, its management and operations would completely align professionally with world best practices.

Ibom Air will initially operate within Uyo-Lagos-Abuja routes to boost the state’s economy and tourism.

Mr. Lere Olayinka, the Special Assistant on Media to former governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Peter Ayodele Fayose wrote on his Twitter handle:
