(DDM) — The Nigerian Air Force has reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining intensified air operations against terrorist groups across the country, as part of ongoing efforts to restore national security.

The assurance was given by the Chief of the Air Staff, Hassan Abubakar, who emphasized that the force will continue to deploy precision strikes aimed at dismantling criminal and insurgent networks.

According to him, the strategy is focused on targeting key strongholds, logistics hubs, and movement corridors used by terrorists, thereby weakening their operational capabilities.

He noted that recent air offensives have recorded significant successes, including the neutralisation of high-value targets and the destruction of hideouts in volatile regions.

The Air Chief stressed that the Nigerian Air Force remains committed to protecting the territorial integrity of the nation and ensuring the safety of citizens.

He further explained that the use of advanced surveillance systems and intelligence gathering has enhanced the accuracy and effectiveness of air operations.

Security analysts say the increased reliance on precision airstrikes reflects a broader shift in Nigeria’s counter-terrorism strategy, combining technology with coordinated ground operations.

They note that such an approach has proven effective in disrupting insurgent activities, particularly in the North-East and North-West regions where terrorist groups have been active.

The Air Force also highlighted the importance of inter-agency collaboration, working closely with the Nigerian Army, Navy, and other security bodies to achieve coordinated results.

In addition, Abubakar called on citizens to support the military by providing timely and credible intelligence that could aid ongoing operations.

He reassured Nigerians that the Air Force will not relent in its mission, vowing to sustain pressure on all criminal elements threatening peace and stability.
