Passengers of Air Peace have reportedly protested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja following the cancellation of a Lagos-bound flight, with the situation disrupting movement around the terminal entrance.
The passengers, who were scheduled to travel from Abuja to Lagos, reportedly gathered at the airport on Saturday after experiencing hours of uncertainty over their flight.
According to reports from the scene, the flight was initially scheduled to depart around 12 noon. However, passengers allegedly waited for several hours before being informed at about 6pm that the flight had been cancelled.
The development reportedly triggered frustration among the affected travellers, who questioned why they had been kept waiting for so long before being informed about the cancellation.
The situation escalated later in the evening as some of the passengers reportedly blocked the terminal entrance in protest.
Reports from the airport indicated that the protesters insisted that other airline passengers should not proceed through the terminal until their concerns were addressed.
The cancelled flight was reportedly expected to depart for Lagos at about 8pm after the earlier delays, but passengers said they were left stranded after the cancellation.
Videos and reports circulating online showed a large number of travellers gathered around the airport terminal as they expressed their anger over the situation.
