Airtel Africa intensifies campaign on smarter data usage
DDM News

Airtel Africa Plc, a leading telecommunications and mobile money services provider, has ramped up efforts to educate its customers on maximizing their data bundles for an enhanced digital experience.
Diaspora digital media (DDM) gathered that the company aims to empower users to make informed decisions about their data consumption habits.
To achieve this, Airtel has partnered with three renowned African artists to promote smarter data usage.
The artists include Simi from Nigeria, Fally Ipupa from the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Diamond Platnumz from Tanzania.
These musicians have collaborated with Airtel to produce a special song offering practical tips and tools for optimizing data use.
The tips cover a wide range of activities, including browsing the internet efficiently, streaming content, and accessing essential apps.
This collaboration is part of Airtel Africa’s ongoing #SmartaWithData campaign, which is designed to educate customers on better data management practices.
The campaign encourages customers to adopt three key practices: GET smarter data settings, SET smarter data speeds, and GO #SmartaWithData for a more rewarding online experience.
Targeting young customers aged 18-35 years, the campaign is active across Airtel networks in countries such as Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Zambia, and Malawi.
The #SmartaWithData initiative not only provides tips for smarter data usage but also invites customers to share their own insights and strategies for effective data management.
Customers can conveniently access Airtel’s data bundles through USSD codes, Airtel Lite, or the MyAirtel App, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly experience.
“Our goal with this campaign is to ensure that Airtel customers get the most out of their data bundles and enjoy an improved online experience,” said Rohit Marwha, Chief Marketing and Sales Officer at Airtel Africa.
“By collaborating with beloved African artists who resonate with our audience, we deliver relatable messages that help users seamlessly adopt smarter data usage habits,” he added.
Marwha further emphasized, “At Airtel Africa, our priority is to create exceptional customer experiences through our products and services.”
“We hope this edutainment campaign, led by internationally acclaimed African artists, empowers our customers to enjoy rewarding online experiences, whether for business or leisure.”
Through the #SmartaWithData campaign, Airtel underscores its commitment to enhancing the digital lives of its customers by helping them optimize their data usage effectively.
