Akwa Ibom NDDC Rep Nkono mourns late Eket APC Welfare Officer

Representative of Akwa Ibom State in the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Apostle Abasiandikan Nkono, on Saturday, paid his last respects to the departed Welfare Officer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Eket Local Government Area, Late Emmanuel Arthur Umoh.
The funeral service, held at CDA Secondary School, Iko Eket, Eket LGA, drew members of the APC family in the area, church members, community members, and well-wishers.
Apostle Nkono, in a condolence message to the deceased’s family, stated that the “APC family in Eket LGA has been reeling in shock and anguish since the departure of our ever-reliable and dependable Welfare Officer.”
He continued: “Our departed brother carried the welfare of the party on his shoulders, exhibiting courage, love, and sacrifice in our quest for building a virile political party in Eket LGA.”
“As we pay homage and last respects to our gallant ally and party man, I, on behalf of my immediate family and the APC, Eket, wish to reassure the deceased’s family of continued solidarity and support through this phase and beyond.”
“May the sterling virtues and legacies of the departed be replicated, even as I pray that his gentle soul finds repose in the Lord.”
According to his biography, the late Emmanuel Arthur Umoh was born on December 4, 1966, to the family of Chief Arthur Umoh Iyangudo of Ibeye Iko Eket in Eket Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State. He attended St. Paul Lutheran School, Ikot Ibiok, and Comprehensive Secondary School, Afaha Eket, before proceeding to Lagos State, where he acquired an OND in Computer Programming in 1988.
Umoh was a devoted family man, married to the late Mrs. Bridget Bassey Thompson, and their union was blessed with seven children.
The funeral service was conducted by Omega Bride Tabernacle, with several pastors in attendance, including Pastor Bassey Akpakpan, Pastor Mark Suleiman, Pastor David, Pastor Paul Oguibe, Pastor Femi Joseph, Pastor Paul Olanade, and Pastor Bamidele Adelodun.
