Gov Willie Obiano has assured the people of Akpo community in Aguata local government area, in particular, and the entire citizens of Anambra state of his commitment towards addressing critical infrastructural challenges confronting them to ensure that life was made meaningful for all.
The governor who spoke at Akpo during a grand reception organized for him by the Community where the people endorsed his leadership style and urged him of their maximum support if he accepts to go for a second term.
Gov Obiano who was accompanied on the visit by top executives of his All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) was received with fanfare.
He could not hide his joy at the massive turnout of citizens of the area who trooped out to receive him.
He commended the community for choosing Agriculture sector for the state government’s twenty million naira ‘all-communities’ intervention fund.
The governor however lamented that a lot of the roads, school buildings and physical infrastructure in the community were in bad shape because of the State’s lean resources.
But assured them that immediately Federal Government releases the forty-three point eight billion naira owed the state, his administration would intervene in their situation.
The immediate past chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Umeh, said the people’s massive turnout was a clear indication that APGA government was working commendably to bring dividends of democracy to all citizens in the state.
In his welcome address, the President General of the town, Mr. Godwin Ezeno, hailed the governor for the milestones he has achieved in his quest to transform the state.
Ezeno also hailed the vigor with which he has pursued his four key development pillars.
The President General noted that consequently Akpo has therefore endorsed him as the best governor the state has had.
He equally pledge loyalty and support for him and APGA as the 2017 governorship election in the state approaches.
The community appealed to the governor for intervention in road construction, renovation of the community’s secondary school, rural electrification, as well as government appointments.
