Anambra Obidient Leader In Trouble After Endorsing Soludo

The leader of the Obidient Movement in Anambra State, Mr. Ikenna Azomchime, may have bitten more that he can chew as members have dragged him before the Director general of the Movement, Dr. Tanko Yunusa and other Zonal Leaders after endorsing Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for a second term.

This was disclosed in an open letter signed by one of the leaders of the Obidient Movement in the state, Mr. Ibodje S.O., also known as Atlas, and made available to Diaspora Digital Media (DDM).

The letter was entitled “Open letter to the DG, Obidient Movement on the unethical conduct of Ikenna Azomchime, Anambra Obidient leader“.

Atlas expressed “deep concern regarding the recent unilateral endorsement of Governor Charles Soludo for a second term by Hon. Ikenna Azomchime”.

He noted that the action was taken without consensus and contradicts the principles and collective will of the Movement.

‘Soludo consistently positioned himself as an avowed enemy of the Movement’

He also noted that Governor Soludo has “consistently positioned himself as an avowed” enemy of the Movement and wondered what earns him such endorsement.

Atlas further questioned about the commitment of Mr. Azomchime to the ethos of the Movement.

He stated: “I write with deep concern regarding the recent unilateral endorsement of Governor Charles Soludo for a second term by Hon. Ikenna Azomchime, the Anambra State Obidient leader.

“This action, taken without consensus, directly contradicts the principles and collective will of the Obidient Movement.

“Governor Soludo has consistently positioned himself as an avowed adversary of our movement.

“Hon. Ikenna’s endorsement not only undermines our shared mission but also raises serious ethical questions about his commitment to the values we uphold.”

“Appropriate sanctions”

Atlas, therefore, urged the Movement leaders to immediately constitute a fact-finding committee to:

1. Ascertain the circumstances and motivations behind Hon. Ikenna Azomchime’s endorsement of Governor Soludo.
2. Recommend appropriate sanctions for this conduct, stressing that it is clearly inimical to the vision, mission, and integrity of the Obidient movement.

“We must act swiftly and decisively to preserve the credibility and unity of our movement,” he added.
