Scores of protesters, on Thursday, March 28, stormed the Anambra State election petition tribunal in protest against Senator Victor Umeh.

According to sources, the protesters were hired by the winner of the Anambra Central Senatorial election, Mrs. Uche Ekwunife.

Speaking to ElombahNews, an observer, Mr. ‎Charles Ifeanyi Okolo said that it is fear of losing at the courts  that gripped the Senator-elect who he said “hires miscreants with placards to storm court premises crying as wolves in sheep’s clothing.”

He wondered why Ekwunife needs to hire protesters haven “won” the election.

He argued that if anyone needs protesters, it is the defeated Victor Umeh who should be doing just that.

He said: “Atiku/Obi is going to court with over 100 SANs yet APC did not protest .

“PDP in Idemili north and south led by the seating Rep member are in tribunal yet Member elect, Hon Ibezi did not protest .

“Here comes the one chance senator elect who is so afraid of going to court because of so many hidden skeletons in her cupboard.

“If Uche Ekwunife knows she clearly won Senator Victor Umeh in the last NASS election, why then is she afraid,” he asked rhetorically.

Another observer, Mr. Eneh Victor Chigozie asked: “What’s Ekwunife doing with protesters at the Tribunal?”

Continuing, he said: “She is about to make the same mistake she made in 2015.

“No amount of protests will sway the minds of the tribunal judges.

“She should be advised to use the money she is wasting in mobilising placards to get a good lawyer who understands the dynamics of Umeh in litigation.

“This protest is a sign of panic. I even learnt that AIT beamed it live. That’s a total waste.

“Umeh doesn’t win court cases on merit. He uses technicalities. Iyom should know what to do.

“If Iyom loses this case to Umeh, the implication is that no one from Anambra central will challenge Umeh in the senatorial elections until he decides to retire from politics at an old age.

“This is not time for protest. The judges will not award victory to her because some unknown faces carried placards, chanting nzogbu, nzogbu.

“She must be ready to meet Umeh at judi-spiritual confluence. She must be ready to speak judicial language which Umeh understands perfectly.

“If she hopes on protesting, she may keep protesting while Umeh returns to the senate again through the back door.

“The rate at which Umeh is carrying out constituency project even after losing election is suspicion,” he concluded.
