The national convention organised by the national chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Martin Agbaso on behalf of the party has been declared a “huge success”.
This is contrary to reports by some that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) rejected the the outcome of the convention on the pretext that INEC rejected the convention.
Some report claimed INEC described the convention as an inconsequential jamboree, hence invalidated any action by the Agbaso camp.
Credible report from the convention, however, showed that it was credible and successfully executed and that INEC has registered its satisfaction.
The convention held on Friday, August 11, 2017 at Today’s Women event centre along Aba road, Owerri, Imo State.
According to the non-credible report, INEC reportedly rejected inducements by Agbaso’s team to lure the electoral body to witness the convention.
The report claimed that INEC cited Nnewi, Ibadan and Abakaliki court orders restraining Agbaso from carrying out any activity concerning APGA under any guise and however upheld the June 6th 2015 APGA national convention.

Meanwhile, Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State visited the APGA National Headquarters, Abuja to submit his Party Nomination Form for the November 18 Anambra Governorship Election.
The factional chairman of APGA, Ozo Victor Oye; National Secretary, Labaran Maku; other members of the National Working Committee; delegates from APGA UK and a host of party faithful were on ground to receive the APGA governor.
In company of the governor was the Director General of his Campaign Organization, Chief Sir Victor Umeh, who is the immediate past National Chairman of APGA .
Also on ground was the immediate past National Secretary, Alhaji Sani Shinkafi.
The governor who arrived amidst cheers by obviously very happy party faithful and members of staff of the National Secretariat was led straight to the office where the nomination form was submitted.
Recently, a Federal High Court sitting in Enugu, and an Appeal Court also sitting in Enugu, had recognised Agbaso as the authentic National Chairman of APGA simultaneously.
However, Victor Oye and Governor Obiano rejected the court order that authenticated his chairmanship and have been throwing legal tantrums to frustrate Agbaso.
