The Tashar Nagule village in Batsari local government area, Katsina State, was the target of a concerted raid by gunmen who appeared to be bandits wearing military uniforms, kidnapping 31 residents.

According to a reliable source in the neighborhood, the armed men, totaling approximately 31, entered the community on Sunday night wearing military uniforms and apprehended women, children, and adults.

He clarified that the attackers had left their motorcycles outside the community and had initially besieged the village before sending some of their men through the main entrance to abduct the inhabitants.

Around nine o’clock at night, my buddies and I were outside when we heard the first gunshots. As we got up to go, the terrorists yelled at us to halt since they were sent as security guards to keep us safe.

“They knew that we would believe them if they claimed to be police officers or soldiers sent to protect us, and that is exactly what happened,” the insider stated.

Reiterating their deception, the insider said that locals gathered at the village square without realizing that the intruders—some of whom were dressed in military camouflage—were robbers rather than security personnel.

“The terrorists told the residents to follow them into the forest after they had circled around them,” he claimed. I realized then that these weren’t security personnel. I darted back into my house after slipping away of the group.

As of this morning (Monday), we have counted thirty-one individuals who have been removed. Since there were other terrorists waiting to ambush outside the settlement, some of them were kidnapped as they fled into the jungle.
