Bandits free Abuja family members after collecting N4m and wine

Five family members who were abducted at Bukpe community of Wako Ward in Kwali Area Council of the FCT have been set free after their abductors collected N4 million, wine and foodstuff as ransom.

The five family members identified as Ibrahim Dakwoi Bukpe, Monica Ibrahim, John Dakwoi Bukpe, Yabuku Dakwoi Bukpe and Margaret Yakubu were abducted after the bandits invaded the community on August 22, 2022.

The Village Head of Bukpe, Alhaji Hussaini Shamdozhi, who confirmed the release of the victims, said they returned home around 6pm on Sunday September 4, after N4m, two bags of rice, spaghetti, recharge cards, wine and drugs were given to their abductors.

The FCT police command is yet to comment on this development.
