Bandits kidnap ex-LG boss in Kebbi, set his car ablaze

A former Chairman of Kalgo Local Government Area in Kebbi State, Umar Namashaya Diggi has been kidnapped by gunmen suspected to be bandits along the Birnin Kebbi-Diggi Road.

The incident occurred on Monday, February 17 while Diggi was traveling to his village from Birnin Kebbi.

According to media reports, Mr. Diggi who was pursued by the criminal elements was forced to stop at Gayi village, where the attackers set his Toyota Corolla (KLG 637 AA) on fire before taking him away.

Security forces recovered several items from the scene, including a lighter, a stick, and a fuel-like substance suspected to have been used in the attack.

Meanwhile, a full-scale investigation has been launched, with the Kebbi State Police Command confirming the abduction and ongoing efforts to track down the perpetrators.
