The Oyo State Police Command is investigating handwritten threat notes allegedly dropped by suspected bandits in Ikoyi-Ile, Orire Local Government Area.
Two notes were found on Friday, one at the front and one at the rear of a building, warning of an attack planned for Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
This follows a previous attack in the area where five forest guards were killed near the Old Oyo National Park.
Police spokesperson DSP Ayanlade Olayinka confirmed the investigation is underway to determine the origin and intent of the notes.
“The individual who discovered the note is undergoing debriefing,” Olayinka said, adding that residents should remain vigilant.
