Mr Akparawa, the Minister of Information under the former leadership of Simon Ekpa, has dismissed the recent announcement made by Dr. Ngozi Orabueze, the new leader of Biafra Government in Exile which revealed that the separatist movement has commenced recruitment into Biafra Defense Force.

Mrs Ngozi in a statement she personally signed on Friday, announced the recruitment exercise.

She said, “Conscription/Recruitment of interested Biafrans into the Biafra Security, BLA, BDF, Airforce, Navy opened – USB Defence Secretary”.

But Akparawa has described the recruitment exercise as an attempt by Orabueze to destroy Biafra Defense Force.

Mr. Akparawa urged their supporters to ignore the call by Mrs Ngozi Orabueze.

He said, “The Nigerian politician Evil Ngozi woman first assignment given to you by Nigerian people’s Club of Nigeria was to start destroying BIAFRA DEFENCE FORCES @DhqrsBLF by forming a new set of armed groups: you are dead on arrival. Biafrans Ignore this madness because there’s only one Biafra Defence Forces unveiled in Helsinki on the mandate of Biafran people in October 2023. Ngozi has come for destruction”.

NewsBand Newspaper reported that Dr. Orabueze, a former Chief of Staff to Simon Ekpa, the self-acclaimed Prime Minister of Biafra Government In Exile, toppled his principal barely a month after he was thrown into prison for terror-related activities by the Finnish Government.

Ekpa was taken into custody in November along side four others, suspected to be his financiers.

A Finnish court has scheduled the trial of Simon Ekpa for May 2025, where he will face charges linked to alleged terrorism-related activities.

Ekpa has been a polarizing figure internationally due to his controversial activities and rhetoric.

His arrest has drawn attention to Finland’s stance on individuals allegedly using its territory to coordinate or fund actions with global implications.

As investigations continue, Finnish authorities have reiterated their commitment to ensuring that all actions align with the country’s strict anti-terrorism laws while respecting the rights of those involved.
