BREAKING: Court grants lawmaker N500,000 bail over assault on Bolt driver

A magistrate court sitting in Abuja, has granted bail in the sum of N500,000 to Alex Ikwechegh, a member of the House of Representatives, following his arraignment over an alleged assault on Stephen Abuwatseya, a Bolt driver.

Ikwechegh who was arraigned by the Inspector-General of Police office, pleaded not guilty to three counts bordering on assault and threat to life.

NewsBand reported that the lawmaker was caught on camera slapping and threatening Abuwatseya in his Maitama residence in Abuja on Sunday.
