BREAKING: Ex-Eagles star—Yisa Sofoluwe is dead

A former Super Eagles defender, Yisa Sofoluwe, popularly known as Dean of Defence, is dead.

He was aged 54 years.

Sofoluwe died from a brain disease known as mild cerebral atrophy, late Tuesday, at the Intensive Care Unit of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).

Sofoluwe was rushed to LUTH on Friday, after his medical condition deteriorated.

Sofoluwe won 40 caps and scored one goal for Nigeria and was a member of the Eagles squads which reached the finals of the 1984 and 1988 AFCON tournaments.
