BREAKING: Fire fighters in four hours battle to save home of community leader, 20 others in Ilorin

Fire outbreak believed to have happened on account sudden power surge, Monday evening in Ilorin, capital city, Kwara, north central Nigeria, has razed the home of a community leader, rendering 20 of his tenants homeless without most of their worldly possessions.

The fire began by 5:30 pm.

DDM got to the scene at 8:40 and saw fire fighters still battling the raging inferno.

As learnt too, the fighter truck had returned after exhausted the first water tank it brought to quell the fire.

The affected house belonged to Alhaji Saka Imam, the Alangua, Wara, Ilorin.

Alanguas in Ilorin are community elders appointed by the Emir of Ilorin.
