May Agbamuche-Mbu has taken over as the Acting Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) following the formal handover of duties by Professor Mahmood Yakubu, who has proceeded on terminal leave.
The handover ceremony took place on Tuesday at the INEC headquarters in Abuja during a meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs).
Agbamuche-Mbu is one of the longest-serving National Commissioner at INEC and chairs the Legal Services, Clearance, and Complaints Committee (LSCCC).
With over three decades of experience as a legal practitioner, Agbamuche-Mbu holds an LLM in Commercial and Corporate Law from Queen Mary and Westfield College, University of London.
