The Katsina State Police Command has dismantled a criminal syndicate specializing in burglary and house trespass.

This gang has reportedly terrorized residents of Kwado, Kambarawa, and areas around the NYSC Orientation Camp for years.

According to Diaspora Digital Media (DDM), the sting operation was carried out after a tipoff from a “Good Samaritan.”

Four suspects were arrested, and several stolen household items were recovered, including electronics and a tricycle used by the syndicate.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, the Police Public Relations Officer, on Thursday.

He said that on June 13, 2025, at exactly 10:16 p.m., officers at the GRA Police Division, acting on intelligence, stormed the Kado area.

Their swift response led to the arrest of Lawal Hamza, a.k.a. “Honourable,” 28, of Saulawa Quarters, and Nafi’u Sanusi, 33, of GRA.

Items recovered from them included a 55-inch LG plasma TV, a mattress, refrigerator, and a bunch of house keys.

One of the victims, Muhammad Lawal of Saulawa, identified some of the recovered items as his stolen property.

The suspects reportedly confessed to the crimes and named Abdulrahman Sama’ila as an accomplice, who is currently on the run.

Further investigations linked the gang to burglaries reported on June 8 and 15, 2025, by Abubakar Musa and Abdulaziz Usman.

Those incidents occurred around the NYSC Camp and Sabon Titin Kwado, with items stolen ranging from TVs and gas cylinders to clothing and handbags.

Police also arrested Binta Ibrahim, 37, of Sabuwar Unguwa, Kofar Kaura Quarters, who was found in possession of stolen items.

During interrogation, she admitted receiving the goods from “Honourable,” confirming his role as the syndicate’s ringleader.

Katsina State Police Commissioner, CP Bello Shehu, assured the public of the command’s unwavering commitment to tackling crime.

He said investigations are ongoing to recover more stolen items and apprehend remaining members of the gang.
