The Executive President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has on Wednesday congratulated Donald Trump on his victory in the US election.
Tinubu, in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga on Wednesday, expressed his commitment to strengthen good relationship between Nigeria and the United States amid the challenges facing the contemporary world.
In the congratulatory message, Tinubu said, “Together, we can foster economic cooperation, promote peace, and address global challenges that affect our citizens.”
According to Tinubu, “Trump’s victory in the 2024 presidential election is a testament to the trust and confidence the American people have placed in his leadership.”
According to the Diaspora Digital Media (DDM), the president extended his heartfelt congratulations to the American people for their dedication to democratic principles, acknowledging the significance of their participation in the electoral process.
Onanuga stated that “President Bola Tinubu believes that Donald Trump’s return to the White House as the 47th President of the United States will foster a new era of sincere, mutually beneficial, and cooperative economic and development partnerships between Africa and the United States.
Tinubu formally acknowledged the United States’ significant influence, power, and position in shaping global events.
“He expressed trust that President Donald Trump’s leadership will foster a more peaceful and prosperous world,” PUNCH reported.
Who is Trump?
