I remember my days as an undergraduate student at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
I remember that if you entered the University with fake certificate or you cheated in the exams hall even from first year, the authorities could leave you till final year before they call you up to face the music of expulsion!
Then some of us considered those university officials as wicked and inconsiderate for waiting that long before expelling a cheat after he must have labored for years while others see them as principled ”no non-sense” officials.
However, today, President Buhari is merely been required to bring his WASC result before a court to prove its authenticity and here is the list of lawyers he has hired.
Buhari’s legal team is made up of such legal heavy weights:

2. Mr. Lateef O. Fagbemi (SAN),
3. Chief Akin Olujinmi (SAN),
4. Oluwarotimi O. Akeredolu (SAN),
5. Kola Awodein (SAN),
6. Prof. Taiwo Osipitan (SAN),
7. Charles Edosomwan (SAN),
8. Emeka Ngige (SAN),
9. Femi Atoyebi (SAN),
10. Femi Falana (SAN),
11. Funke Aboyade (SAN),
12. H.O. Afolabi (SAN),
13. Muiz Banire (SAN),
… and 10 other counsels.
These men are challenging a court order requesting Buhari to enter into defence in a case Challenging his eligibility to contest the last election on account of being academically unqualified.
Why is it taking Buhari 13 SANs to argue against presenting a “mere” certificate?
The legal fees of these SANs would have paid for immunization of all Children in Daura and would also have paid for skilled labour at birth for all pregnant women in Daura for 5 years!
Where are those ABU authorities who so much hated fake certificates!
