The Newly appointed Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Mr. Daniel Bwala, has officially started work at the State House on Monday, November 18, reacting to public criticism surrounding his new appointment.

Bwala, while addressing journalists at the State House during a familiarization briefing, emphasized the crucial importance of staying focused amidst distractions.

According to the Diaspora Digital Media (DDM),  Bwala who was the Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s spokesperson during the 2023 presidential campaign, made it clear that his focus is on supporting the president’s administration, not personal interests.

He stated “It’s not about Bwala; it’s about the president.”

According to Bwala, “Life is all about focus. When you’re driven towards a goal, distractions will inevitably arise. What defines your character is how you handle those distractions and stay committed to your vision.”

The newly appointed special adviser stated “my focus is on supporting the government, the president, and his administration.”

“This isn’t about personal interests or agendas; it’s about advancing the greater good.”

“I refuse to engage with negative energy that’s been fueled by certain groups attempting to undermine the President’s vision.”

Instead, I’ll prioritize constructive dialogue and collaboration, as the President remains committed to driving positive change. By staying focused on the administration’s goals, we can work together towards a better future.”

However, Bwala’s appointment has drawn mixed reactions, with Senator Ali Ndume praising President Tinubu’s inclusivity while urging Bwala to apologize to Vice President Kashim Shettima for past criticisms.

As reported, Bwala in response to criticism noted that his attention was drawn to Senator Ndume’s comments, and he immediately contacted Vice President Shettima, with whom he said they share a fantastic relationship.

He emphasized that his priority is fulfilling President Tinubu’s mandate and urged critics to shift their attention to the administration’s work, rather than spreading negativity.

Bwala stated “I wouldn’t have normally responded, but I reached out to the vice president and we even joked about it.”

The relationship between myself and Vice President Kashim Shettima commenced, or rather strengthened, during the National Assembly leadership elections.”

“Since then, our collaboration has been fruitful. However, I am aware that Senator Ali Ndume is experiencing challenging times, and I kindly suggest that we offer our prayers and support for his well-being and guidance.”

“Our primary focus remains on fulfilling President Bola Tinubu’s mandate, rather than individual interests. It is imperative to prioritize the president’s objectives and work collectively towards achieving them.”

“As servants of the president, we each have distinct responsibilities, and I will not comment on others’ roles as it may be perceived as overstepping. My priority is to support the president’s mandate and work collaboratively with the team to achieve our objectives,” Bwala stated.

“I am pleased to introduce myself and assume my role as Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, as appointed by President Bola Tinubu.”

“The position was previously held by Ajuri Ngelale, but I believe it’s essential to recognize that we are all colleagues working towards a common goal.”

“Our focus should be on achieving the president’s mandate, rather than individual distinctions or titles. As a team, we will collaborate to advance the administration’s objectives, prioritizing unity and collective progress.”
