The advance screening of Call of My Life at Filmhouse IMAX Lekki delivered more than just a movie night, offering guests an immersive experience that blended cinema, music, and heartfelt reflections on modern relationships. Held in Lagos, the event drew an exciting mix of cast members, filmmakers, media personalities, and fans, all gathered to celebrate a story rooted in love, vulnerability, and emotional healing.

Even before the screening began, the atmosphere was alive with energy. A Tiwa Savage-themed karaoke setup outside the venue set the tone for the evening, as fans performed her popular songs while guests arrived. The lively pre-show moment created a warm, celebratory mood that perfectly complemented the emotional depth of the film.

At its core, Call of My Life tells the story of Soluchi, a call centre agent trying to rebuild her life after heartbreak, and Eli, a newscaster who unexpectedly finds love through a simple work connection. Through their journey, the film explores themes of vulnerability, second chances, and the courage it takes to open one’s heart again after disappointment.

Lead actor Andrew Bunting, who portrays Eli, described the role as one that required emotional restraint and authenticity. Reflecting on the character, he noted that the story highlights the importance of being open and unapologetically oneself in love, defining true affection as “peace, comfort, and safety.”

For writer and lead actress Uzoamaka Power, who plays Soluchi, the story carries a deeply personal connection. Drawing from her own experience working in a call centre, she explained that the film was inspired by real-life encounters and the complexities of relationships that lack genuine care. Alongside producer Blessing Uzi, she set out to create a love story grounded in emotional truth.

Actress Beverly Osu, who plays Zimuzo, also highlighted the collaborative and calm environment on set, which allowed the cast to fully connect with their roles and deliver natural performances.

With its heartfelt storytelling and relatable themes, Call of My Life positions itself as a compelling addition to Nollywood’s growing catalogue of romance-driven narratives—one that speaks directly to anyone who has ever had to find the strength to love again.
