Cambodia has denied reports circulating online that it ordered African nationals to leave the country, describing the viral notice as fake.
Authorities said the message spreading on social media did not come from any official government agency.
The Ministry of Interior clarified that Cambodia has not introduced any policy targeting Africans or any other foreign nationals for deportation or forced exit.
Officials added that the country remains open to foreigners visiting, working, or doing business, as long as they comply with immigration laws and regulations.
The government said the false claim originated from misinformation shared online, including posts alleging that Africans had been given a deadline to leave Cambodia.
According to officials, the rumour has caused unnecessary concern and could damage the country’s reputation internationally.
Cambodian authorities maintained that no mass exit order was issued and urged the public to ignore the misleading reports.
