Chief George Moghalu Pays Homage To Ukpo Monarch Ahead Of Anambra Governorship Election

(DDM) – The Labour Party’s governorship candidate in the upcoming Anambra State election, Chief George Moghalu, has continued his long-standing tradition of paying homage to traditional rulers before embarking on campaign activities in any community.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathered that Chief Moghalu, during his recent visit to His Royal Majesty, Igwe Dr. Robert C. Eze (Okofia VI), the Traditional Ruler of Ukpo Kingdom and Clan Head of Dunukofia Ancient Kingdom, received royal blessings, wise counsel, and prayers for peace and good governance in the state.

The visit, which took place at the royal palace in Ukpo, underscored Chief Moghalu’s deep respect for traditional institutions and his belief that no meaningful governance can thrive without the guidance and partnership of community leaders.

Speaking during the visit, Chief Moghalu described it as a privilege to meet the monarch, emphasizing that every visit to a traditional ruler serves as a reminder of the values that define Anambra’s identity.

“As part of my tradition to pay homage to the traditional ruler of every community I enter before proceeding with campaign activities, it was indeed a privilege to visit and receive the royal blessing of His Royal Majesty, Igwe Dr. Robert C. Eze (Okofia VI), the Traditional Ruler of Ukpo Kingdom and Clan Head of Dunukofia Ancient Kingdom,” he stated.

He further expressed that the monarch’s warm reception, wisdom, and prayers deeply inspire his continued commitment to serve the people of Anambra with humility, accountability, and respect for cultural heritage.

“His Royal Majesty’s warm reception, wise counsel, and prayers for peace and good governance deeply inspire my continued commitment to serve Ndi Anambra with humility, respect for our cultural heritage, and an unwavering dedication to the collective progress of our state,” he added.

DDM reports that Chief Moghalu’s visit is part of his broader campaign outreach across the 21 local government areas of Anambra State, where he has been engaging with traditional institutions, youth groups, and community associations to share his vision for a new and people-driven government.

Sources close to the palace told DDM that Igwe Dr. Robert C. Eze commended Chief Moghalu for demonstrating humility and reverence for traditional authority, praying for divine protection, wisdom, and success in his political aspirations.

The monarch also reminded political leaders to see traditional rulers as partners in development, noting that true leadership must always reflect the customs, unity, and shared identity of Ndi Anambra.

Political observers say Chief Moghalu’s cultural approach to campaign activities has distinguished him among other candidates, describing him as a bridge-builder who understands the balance between modern governance and traditional wisdom.
