The Coalition for the Protection of Democracy (COPDEM) has announced the date and time for its monthly General Meeting, extending an open invitation to all members within Nigeria and across the globe.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) reports that the event will be held virtually via Zoom on Saturday, May 31, 2025, beginning at 8:00 PM Nigeria Time.

According to the organizers, the meeting is part of a continuing effort to build solidarity, foster civic consciousness, and strengthen democratic accountability among Nigerians at home and abroad.

Participants are expected to join through the following Zoom link: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/81759680704?pwd=JIWMxbdNAXXLU8ZSqjX0KqIpTUPapI.1.

The Meeting ID is 817 5968 0704, and the access passcode is 504019.

The Coalition, which has emerged as a vocal platform for democratic advocacy and citizen engagement in Nigeria, holds these general meetings regularly to update its members on key activities, receive feedback, and mobilize coordinated action against threats to democratic governance.

Founded in response to growing public concern over political impunity, voter suppression, and the shrinking civic space in Nigeria, COPDEM has quickly become a trusted voice for democracy.

It advocates for electoral justice, transparency in governance, and the protection of human rights across Nigeria’s geopolitical zones.

The upcoming general meeting is expected to feature discussions on Nigeria’s current political landscape, policy advocacy, civic education programs, and upcoming grassroots mobilization campaigns.

Leadership updates and strategic planning for the next quarter will also be on the agenda.

COPDEM continues to emphasize the importance of global participation in domestic reform, urging the Nigerian diaspora to remain actively engaged in civic matters.

The organization believes that democracy thrives best when citizens, regardless of location, are informed, united, and proactive.

The coalition encourages both old and new members to attend the meeting and contribute to the democratic cause.
