The Coalition for the Protection of Democracy (COPDEM) Kano is a dynamic and inclusive Political Action Group (PAG) established by Nigerian citizens to enhance partisan politics and promote good governance across the nation.

In an interaction with the national structure, Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) revealed that COPDEM unites individuals and groups within Nigeria and the diaspora, all committed to building a prosperous and democratic Nigeria.

What COPDEM stands for

1. Good Governance

Advocates for transparency, accountability, and ethical leadership at all levels of government.

Ensures policies reflect the will of the people and prioritize the nation’s best interests.

2. A Political Action Group (PAG)

Pools resources and contributions from members to support or oppose candidates, initiatives, and legislation aligned with pro-democratic values.

Operates independently, unaffiliated with any political party, and focuses on protecting democracy.

3. Unity and Democratic Empowerment

Promotes unity across Nigeria while emphasizing economic and social empowerment as prerequisites for democracy and prosperity.

4. A Pro-Democratic and Apolitical Movement

Transcends party lines, tribal affiliations, regional divides, and religious differences.

Fights corruption and promotes fairness, justice, and equality nationwide.

National structure

COPDEM connects members from the national level to states, local governments, and ward levels, ensuring that every patriotic Nigerian actively participates in protecting democracy.

Mission

To promote and protect the ideals of democracy through government policies and practices, ensuring all Nigerians enjoy the dividends of democracy. COPDEM advocates for good governance, transparency, and accountability in public life.
