The Federal Government has put off, indefinitely, the resumption of all schools nationwide due to the second wave upsurge of the coronavirus in the country.
The Presidential Task Force (PTF) on Coronavirus Control announced this on Monday during its national briefing on the pandemic.
It, however, noted that churches, mosques, political meetings and rallies are expected to continue unhindered in the meantime.
Confirming the development in a tweet on Villa Updates Twitter handle @VillaUpdatesng, the government stated:
“The Federal Government is currently reviewing the January 18th resumption date for schools across the country, following the recent rise in COVID-19 cases.
“Education Minister, Mallam Adamu Adamu, stated this today at the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 briefing in Abuja.”
