African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential aspirant, Peter Obi, on Tuesday embarked on an early morning grassroots tour across several Area Councils in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as political activities intensify ahead of the upcoming council polls.
Obi said he began the outreach as early as 6:30am, departing from his office in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) to meet residents and promote what he described as people-centred leadership.
His first stop was Abaji Area Council, where he campaigned alongside Dr Mohammed Ibrahim, the ADC chairmanship candidate. Obi reportedly spent about an hour walking through the community, engaging residents and listening to their concerns.
He later moved to Kwali Area Council to support Hon. Jeremiah Badoji, also an ADC chairmanship candidate, where he continued community interactions, stressing the need for leadership that is accessible and grounded in the realities of ordinary people.
The former Anambra State governor also visited Zuba in Gwagwalada Area Council, where he campaigned for Pharmacist Iko Danjuma, before proceeding to Deidei Market.
At the market, Obi met with traders and residents while canvassing support for Dr Moses Paul, the ADC chairmanship candidate for AMAC.
Throughout the tour, Obi reiterated his commitment to inclusive development and a governance approach driven by grassroots participation, urging residents to support candidates who prioritise community welfare and local development.
