World leaders have vehemently condemned the attempted assassination of former US President Donald Trump, denouncing political violence and extremism in all its forms.

The incident, which occurred during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, has sent shockwaves around the world, prompting an outpouring of support for Trump and a renewed call for civility in political discourse.

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres led the international community in condemning the attack, stating that “the Secretary-General unequivocally condemns this act of political violence” and extending his best wishes to Trump for a speedy recovery. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen expressed deep shock and offered condolences to the family of the innocent victim, emphasizing that “political violence has no place in a democracy.”

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, and European Union diplomat Josep Borrell were among the numerous leaders who joined the chorus of condemnation, urging an end to political violence and extremism.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who had recently met with Trump, offered his thoughts and prayers for the former president’s safety and recovery.

The attempted assassination has raised concerns about the escalating political tensions and violence in the United States, with many leaders calling for greater civility and dialogue in political discourse.

The incident has also sparked a renewed debate about gun control and the need for stricter measures to prevent such attacks in the future.
