Customs begins 2025 recruitment exercise

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) on Friday opened applications for recruitment of officers into various positions in its Superintendent, Inspector, and Customs Assistant cadres.

This is coming following an announcement by the NCS that it had secured approval to recruit 3,927 officers in 2025, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance trade facilitation and support the nation’s economic recovery.

NCS warned Nigerians to remain vigilant against fraudsters who may attempt to exploit applicants during the recruitment period.

Positions are open in the Superintendent, Inspector, and Customs Assistant cadres, with the agency planning to recruit 3,927 officers to enhance trade facilitation and bolster Nigeria’s economic recovery efforts.

“Our recruitment is entirely free and fair. At no stage do we charge fees. Anyone requesting payment is a scammer,” the NCS clarified, urging applicants to stay alert to potential scams.

Eligibility Requirements

To apply, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Nationality: Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth.

Identification: Possession of a valid National Identification Number (NIN) is mandatory.
Criminal Record: Candidates must have no criminal history or pending investigations.
Educational Qualifications by Cadre:

Superintendent Cadre: A university degree or Higher National Diploma (HND), along with an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
Inspectorate Cadre: A National Diploma (ND) or Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) from an accredited institution.

Customs Assistant Cadre: A minimum of an O’Level certificate (WAEC or NECO).
In addition, all applicants must be physically and mentally fit, with proof of medical fitness from a recognized government hospital.

How to Apply

The application portal opens on December 27, 2024, and closes on January 2, 2025. Interested candidates should apply through the official website at https://recruitment.customs.gov.ng.

The NCS stressed its commitment to a fair recruitment process and encouraged eligible Nigerians to seize this opportunity.
